Today, JR Majewski, Republican candidate for Ohio’s 9th Congressional District, responded to Marcy Kaptur’s appointment to the new Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness. Mr. Majewski affirmed that the concept of appointing the longest-serving Democrat in the House to this committee and expecting her to provide viable economic solutions of hope and prosperity for underserved communities is ridiculous, referencing many of the inner cities in the 9th district that have perished under her watch.

“What Marcy Kaptur and her fellow class warfare/identity politic Democrats do not understand is that capitalism and freedom do not work for those that don’t work!” “Capitalism and freedom are what we make of them…..they are opportunities that we can choose to exploit or not exploit….opportunity and success takes effort.”

Majewski continued that “fairness does not equate to equity of outcomes – the harder you work, and the market value of that work, is rewarded by our individual choices in the marketplace. Kaptur, under her watch, has supported a soft form of socialism as she has aligned herself with some members of Congress that are the likes of the far left that are promoting everything but capitalism and the concepts that our nation was built upon. Socialism does not and will never value our freedom to choose in the marketplace, and seeks to have the government redistribute wealth based upon their perceived value of your work.”

Majewski stated that his solution to the growing disparity between rich and poor are to fundamentally fix:

  • Flawed foreign trade policies that benefit China, India, and Russia.
  • Secondly, we must reverse policies that make the necessities (food, energy, and shelter) of life
    exorbitantly expensive.
  • Reverse job killing bills that favor big corporations and allow more competition by placing a greater value on
    small businesses.

“Socialist policies of radical Democrats like Bernie Sanders and Marcy Kaptur have kept communities like Toledo,
Sandusky, Lorain, and Cleveland from moving forward toward success and prosperity. The policies they are pushing
in no way represent America First. While we may see some diminutive wins for socialism – the stark reality is that
Toledo, Sandusky, Lorain, and Cleveland have worsened their problems during Marcy’s reign – not improved them”

Help fulfill our promise to bring opportunity for all to Ohio's District 9!
